Estimator (Tenders & Pricing)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in eMalahleni. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a quantity surveying practice in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
