Estimator (Tenders & Pricing)

The main building contractor in Fourways needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a main building contractor in Fourways. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
