Estimator (Tenders & Pricing) – Permanent

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Midrand. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Midrand, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Study support for an honours degree
• Hybrid days in the office and on site

• Travel allowance for site visits
