Evening Turndown Housekeeper

You'll turn rooms around at a city business hotel in Roodepoort so every guest walks into a room that feels new. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a city business hotel on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry

• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Grade 10 or matric
• Well groomed

• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
