Evening Turndown Housekeeper – Fixed-Term

You'll turn rooms around at a boutique guesthouse in Secunda so every guest walks into a room that feels new. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Secunda (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date

• Well groomed
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Grade 10 or matric

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• If you worked in a star-graded hotel, say which grading. It tells them the standard you already know.
• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
