Evening Turndown Housekeeper

Housekeeping at a conference hotel in Secunda is steady work with room to grow into supervising. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a conference hotel in Secunda. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift

• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Well groomed
• Grade 10 or matric

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
