Event Security Steward (Stadium)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a private school campus in George for PSIRA-registered officers. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a private school campus in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
