Job Description

Operators at this underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery near Upington keep the ore moving from face to crusher. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is an underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery on the Upington side of Northern Cape.

What your day looks like

Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer

What you need

Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
