Facilities Maintenance Handyman (Office Park)

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The shopping centre in Atlantis has a list waiting for you. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Atlantis (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant

• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
