Factory Hand (Bottling Plant) – Experienced

You'll keep the line running at a plastic moulding plant in Centurion, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Centurion-based, with most of your time spent at a plastic moulding plant. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
