Factory Hand (Bottling Plant) – Entry Level

Here in George, a meat processing plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a meat processing plant in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
