Factory Hand (Bottling Plant) – Experienced

You'll keep the line running at a meat processing plant in Germiston, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a meat processing plant in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
