Factory Hand (Bottling Plant)

Good factory hands stay for years, and this furniture assembly factory in Polokwane trains from day one. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Polokwane; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card

• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
