Farm Foreman (Livestock)

You'll feed, milk and care for animals on a cattle feedlot near Coega, every day of the year. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a cattle feedlot in Coega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time
• Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
• Help the vet with vaccinations and treatments
• Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
• Check animals for illness or injury and report to the manager

• Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
• Reliable, since animals depend on you
• South African ID or a legal work permit

• Basic farm maintenance skills
• Animal health or AgriSETA short course

• Farm housing on site
• Milk or meat rations
• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets
• Training in animal health

• Say which animals you have worked with and for how long. Farmers want someone who already knows the routine.
