Job Description

You'll feed, milk and care for animals on a sheep farm near Gqeberha, every day of the year. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
Milk cows in the parlour following the milking routine
Move animals between camps or pens calmly
Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures
Clean pens, houses and milking equipment

What you need

Able to live on the farm or close by
Comfortable around large animals
Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
Reliable, since animals depend on you

Helpful, not essential

Supervisory experience for foreman roles
Animal health or AgriSETA short course

On offer

Training in animal health
