Field Service Diesel Mechanic (Roadside Breakdowns)

The long-distance trucking fleet in Coega needs a trade-tested diesel mechanic for workshop and field work. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Coega. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles

• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Solid understanding of air brake systems

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Auto electrical skills
• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses

• Overtime available most weeks
