Financial Accountant (Manufacturing)

An agricultural co-operative in Komani needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Komani-based, with most of your time spent at an agricultural co-operative.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run

• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• Consolidation experience across several companies
• Power BI or a similar BI tool
