Finishing Foreman (Fit-Out & Snagging)

You'll run the site day to day for the civil engineering contractor in Johannesburg CBD, from setting out to handover. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a civil engineering contractor on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection

• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites

• Surveying skills with a total station
• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
• Experience on JBCC or GCC 2015 contracts

• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
