Finishing Foreman (Fit-Out & Snagging)

Keep the programme on track, the subbies busy and the site safe for the general building contractor in Tembisa. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Tembisa (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates

• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience

• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Cellphone and laptop supplied

• Mention the contract types you have worked on, like JBCC or GCC. It shows you understand claims and variations.
• If you have SACPCMP registration, put the number and category under your name.
