Fitter and Turner (Engineering Workshop) – Immediate Start

The beverage bottling plant in Komani needs an artisan who can fix a breakdown fast and machine a part when needed. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Komani-based, with most of your time spent at a beverage bottling plant.

• Inspect and adjust conveyors, chains and sprockets
• Replace bearings, seals and couplings on pumps, gearboxes and motors
• Program and run CNC machines from engineering drawings
• Machine shafts, bushes and keyways on a lathe and milling machine
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems on production lines
• Help with electrical fault-finding on motors and sensors as a millwright
• Align shafts with a laser alignment tool after every drive change

• Basic understanding of the General Machinery Regulations
• Willing to work shifts, standby and weekend shutdowns
• Own basic hand tools, or willing to build up a set
• Trade test as Fitter and Turner, Fitter, Millwright or Toolmaker
• N2 or N3 engineering subjects

• Forklift licence for moving heavy parts
• Food safety awareness for food and drink plants
• CNC programming experience

• Shift and standby allowances
• Paid overtime on shutdowns
• Chance to study further toward a technician diploma
• Tool allowance

• If you can machine parts as well as fit them, say so clearly. Many factories want both skills in one person.
• Write your trade and trade test year first, then the machines you know, like "Filling lines, pumps, gearboxes".
