Job Description

Planned maintenance, breakdowns and shutdowns: steady artisan work at the coal mine engineering workshop near Kathu. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Kathu, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Take part in weekend shutdowns for major overhauls
Maintain pumps, fans and compressors in shafts and on surface
Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
Test and maintain flameproof electrical equipment in coal sections
Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles

Must-haves

N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster
Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work

Nice if you have

Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM

On offer
