Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

A mid-sized manufacturing group in Richards Bay needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Richards Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
