Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Vereeniging. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Vereeniging. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
