Job Description

Get off the road and into the control office at a road freight company in Thohoyandou. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a road freight company in Thohoyandou. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Update customers on delivery times and delays

What you need

Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Good with Excel and email
