Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift) – Fixed-Term

Get off the road and into the control office at a courier operations centre in Bellville. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a courier operations centre. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Update customers on delivery times and delays

• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Matric
• Good with Excel and email

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
