Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a distribution depot in Kempton Park, that could be you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a distribution depot in Kempton Park. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route

• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Matric
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Good with Excel and email

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
