Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a road freight company in Krugersdorp, that could be you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Krugersdorp, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system

• Good with Excel and email
• Matric
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

• Transport management system (TMS) experience
• Previous truck driving experience

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Growth to transport manager

• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
