Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift) – Experienced

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a bus and coach operator in Welkom, that could be you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a bus and coach operator in Welkom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Update customers on delivery times and delays

• Matric
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
