Forestry Fire Crew Member (Winter Season)

Hard, outdoor work on a pine plantation near Mbombela, with training on chainsaws and fire safety. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Mbombela; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Plant seedlings in prepared pits at the right spacing
• Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
• Stack logs by length for loading onto trucks
• Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders
• Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
• Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season
