Forklift and Tractor Driver (Farm Shed)

Planting to harvest, a wheat farm near Rustenburg runs on good tractor drivers. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Rustenburg-based, with most of your time spent at a wheat farm. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
• Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
• Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
• Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
• Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
• Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting

• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
• Reliable and sober on duty
• Can read job cards and spray instructions
• Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
• Available to live on or near the farm

• Basic mechanical skills
• Combine harvester experience
• Experience with GPS guidance or auto-steer

• Harvest bonus at season end
• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Training on new machinery

• Mention GPS or auto-steer if you have used it. Modern grain farms struggle to find operators who know it.
• List the machines you can drive and the implements you have used. Farmers want to know if you can plant, spray or harvest on day one.
