  • Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
  • Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
  • Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
  • Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
  • Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
  • Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan

What you need

  • Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
  • Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
  • Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase

What's in it for you

  • Paid SACE CPTD workshops
  • Pension and medical aid for permanent posts
  • Housing allowance for SGB and state-funded posts where it applies
  • Fee discount for your own children at independent schools

Applying, step by step

  1. Make sure the role, the hours and working in Coega really suit you before you apply.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: police clearance issued in the last 6 months plus certified copies of your teaching qualification and academic record.
  3. Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes and you don't need to upload anything yet.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 7 working days.
