Foundation Phase Teacher (Grade 1)

Your subject, your classroom and learners who need you to believe in them: that's this rural combined school in Stellenbosch. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a rural combined school on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops

• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance

• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
• Coaching experience in a major school sport

• Paid SACE CPTD workshops
