Job Description

Your subject, your classroom and learners who need you to believe in them: that's this independent primary school in Vereeniging. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is an independent primary school on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers

You'll need

Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase

Nice if you have

Honours degree in your subject or in education management
Experience with remedial or inclusive education
