Shoppers in Atlantis judge a hardware and building store by its shelves, and that is where you come in. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is in Atlantis (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
• Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves

• Neat appearance and punctual
• Basic reading and maths for price checks
• Grade 10 or matric
• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift

• Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
• Some till or cash-handling experience
• Being 18 or older for liquor store roles

• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Paid training in store procedures
• Travel allowance on merchandising routes

• Hand your CV in at the store in person, early in the week, and ask for the store or receiving manager by name.
• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
