Fresh Produce Packer

You'll keep the shelves full and tidy at a neighbourhood supermarket in George, so shoppers find what they came for. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: George, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
• Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
• Collect trolleys from the parking lot
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)

• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Neat appearance and punctual
• Grade 10 or matric
• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely

• Own transport for route merchandising jobs
• Some till or cash-handling experience

• Travel allowance on merchandising routes
• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Paid training in store procedures

• Stores fill weekend and night-fill slots first, so write "available weekends and nights" in your CV summary line.
• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
