Front-End Loader Operator (Quarry & Stockpile)

Real machine hours on real projects, with the bulk earthworks contractor working in and around Randburg. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a bulk earthworks contractor in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Compact layers with the roller until density tests pass
• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals

• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town
• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill

• Certificates on more than one machine type
• GPS machine control experience on excavators or graders
• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Refresher training on new machines
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites

• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
