Front-End Loader Operator (Quarry & Stockpile)

The quarry and aggregate supplier in Vereeniging needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Backfill and compact around pipes in layers
• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals

• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Refresher training on new machines
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week

• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
• You will likely do a practical test on the machine. Do the walk-around check out loud. It shows you work safely.
