Front Shop Assistant (Community Pharmacy)

You'll help a primary health care clinic dispensary in Mthatha dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a primary health care clinic dispensary on the Mthatha side of Eastern Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist

• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy

• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
