Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an e-commerce platform in Somerset West. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Somerset West (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

What you need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Nice if you have

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
