Quick hands and good eyes are all a berry packing facility near George really needs from you. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is George-based, with most of your time spent at a berry packing facility. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton

• Valid ID or permit
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Basic counting and reading for labels

• Matric for QC posts
• Previous packhouse work
• Forklift licence for palletising roles

• Transport from nearby towns
• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Protective clothing supplied

• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
