Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Paarl. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a bank's digital channels team on the Paarl side of Western Cape. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards

You'll need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Nice if you have

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
