Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an e-commerce platform in Vereeniging. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is an e-commerce platform on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Document how your features work for support and new developers
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries

You'll need

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases

Nice if you have

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
