Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate) – Entry Level

Residents and staff at a private school campus in Kempton Park need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
