General Foreman (Concrete & Structures) – Immediate Start

This low-cost housing developer in Johannesburg CBD needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Johannesburg CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate
• Experience on JBCC or GCC 2015 contracts

• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
