Job Description

You'll run the site day to day for the civil engineering contractor in Middelburg (MP), from setting out to handover. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Middelburg (MP)-based, with most of your time spent at a civil engineering contractor.

What your day looks like

Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages

You'll need

Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
