General Foreman (Concrete & Structures)

This low-cost housing developer in Sandton needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Sandton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes

• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
