General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the private school in Kariega. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Kariega (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units

• Gate motor and intercom repair skills
• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
• Before-and-after photos on your phone can win you this job. Offer to show them at the interview.
