General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

The residential security estate in Montague Gardens needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a residential security estate on the Montague Gardens side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units

• Gate motor and intercom repair skills
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Pool and borehole pump experience

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
