Job Description

Roads, water, buildings: the road agency project office in Kempton Park needs a civil engineer who can take a project from design to site. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a road agency project office on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Write design reports and handover documents
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations

What you need

Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering

Helpful, not essential

Master's degree in structural or water engineering
Contract management training for NEC or GCC
