Job Description

Clean water, safe roads and sound structures start with a good engineer at the civil engineering consultancy in Sasolburg. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a civil engineering consultancy on the Sasolburg side of Free State. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Write design reports and handover documents
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals

What you need

Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate

Helpful, not essential

Contract management training for NEC or GCC
Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
